   Analyzing a year of data from the sensor network I set up to monitor air pollution and manage my safety, I'm reminded how important it is to pay attention to details & complexity.

   So many people think any measurement is an improvement, but that's not the case. Here in Ithaca, our only EPA sensor measures ozone and completely missed last year's wildfires. Also, it's at the top of a hill upwind of the town. Consequently, it's unable to measure pollution that most people would actually encounter
