As CDC regional map remains dark, FDA second-guesses itself to recommend KP.2 for next vaccine, week after recommending ancestor JN.1…
We watch as KP.2 already under substantial pressure from its sibling (KP.3) and cousin (LB.1), per last fortnight's GISAID data (by Pango-designated lineage):
As a reminder, last round, when vaccines were for XBB.1.5, an older linage, BA.2, resurged.
