Chart: Influenza A Virus Wastewater Data Source: CDC National Wastewater Surveillance System Week Ending: June 1, 2024 (Two-Week Maximum) Description from CDC site (not shown): This interactive map shows current site-level data for influenza A virus in wastewater. Each dot on the map represents a wastewater sampling site. Sites are categorized based on the current level of influenza A compared to the past levels at the same site during the 2023-2024 influenza season. When influenza A virus levels are at the 80th percentile or higher, CDC will work with relevant partners to better understand the factors that could be contributing to these levels. Map with circle markers for wastewater sites. Color scale runs from minimal (dark green) to high (dark purple) with grey for insufficient data. Dark purple dots evident in northeast and central west Illinois, northwest Oregon, central coastal California, and central Kansas. (Dark purple in Hawaii obscured by other sites.) Lighter purple band of markers down western Oregon and western Illinois, also sites in Texas and Kansas. Green dots dense in Illinois (esp. upper), along central and southwestern California, and New Jersey into Delaware. Grey dots fill Ohio and states southwest into North Carolina. Northern east coast and much of west coast also show multiple monitoring sites, mostly in grey, as does Wisconsin. Colorado and Oklahoma stand out with far more monitoring sites (most all grey) than states surrounding them.
