   He and the Mayor said this both AFTER the demon kid just killed a family's daughter. That really adds the punch that not treating evil enemies as they are is going to screw you over and get people killed.
   
   I'm still set on my personal headcanon that Frieren knew better and let Himmel, the Mayor, and the village be shown how brutally wrong they were.
