One more stupid setback: woke up with battery drained. I failed to actually check that the USB-PD adapter that came with the modem was charging the UPS. 🤦 It kept power cycling, probably tripping overcurrent charging the battery despite the label claiming it was rated high enough.
So I'm just gonna put a 15V barrel adapter on it rather than buying a better USB-PD adapter or tying up one of my existing good ones. That cuts out the wasteful diode too.
> That's why I am looking at what Musk did as a Nazi salute and what Harris did as not. Who the person is, what they say, who they support, all is important framing as I previously said.
The odd thing is, so am I. LEt me explain my logic:
Of the two Musk is infinitely more likely to be a Nazi than HArris. He may just be nazi like in a some weak ways, maybe he is full on nazi, hard to gauge just how far he is down that scale, but its far enough.
So why dont I think he gave a NAzi salute. Cause he isnt that kind of Dumb.. Trump is tht kind of dumb, if Trump did it i wouldn't even question it. But Musk is snake-smart. He is smart enough to know even if he is a raging Nazi and whats to see the white race destroy all others, he STILL didnt make a purposeful Nazi solute because he has enough brain cells to know that would be death.
Now to be clear I dont think Harris was giving a Nazi solute either (though she is a raging fascist, just not of the Nazi variety). That was just there because hers **looks** far more like a nazi salute, so it is put as a point of absurdity and comparison.
Am I atroll.. I am a trtoll in the sense that i dont give the slightest fuck what someone thinks about me. So I put no effort into "Coming across" one way or another. I know damn well 99% of the small minded people will see what I said, assume I'm a troll and block me. I want that as it gets the toxic people to filter themselves for me, its very intentional. Then the 1% who are left, like you, bother to talk long enough to understand and then realize all it was is that i wasnt putting on airs, it wasnt (*like you probably assumed) some sort of (anti)virtue signaling.

11:30am so time for the annual tradition of my dad deciding he's put up with communal TV choices long enough.
So happy "Alaska: Homestead Rescue" day to all who celebrate.
The womenfolk are off to do crafting in the kitchen. My brother and I are rolling new SWTOR jedi in his gaming shed.
@amerika @vriska @shortstories @KuteboiCoder @icedquinn >We don't need a #UBI... we need fewer people in the workforce
that is part of what a ubi is designed to solve, it allows people to leave a workplace setting much easier, it also allows people to leave an abusive living situation, easier. it allows them to keep a roof over their head while they care for loved ones, or work in the volunteer economy, and the world NEEDS more people volunteering in their local communities. it needs more historians so we don't repeat history, more "real" artists, and more passion projects.
the "means testing" and enforcement that goes on with the social safety net system is not only ineefective and wasteful, it costs as much to FUND as the money it doles out. It entrenches many busywork (bullcrap) jobs, and fills our roads with traffic jams that would not exist with a UBI, it forces govts to waste huge amounts of resources on infrastrure that would NOT be needed. Giving everyone a little to live on that is proportionate to the nations national income is not inflationary, but it would go down dramatically during periods when the country is not exporting enough.
So there is still a good incentive for everyone to do their part to improve the nation as a whole, or their baseline income drops.
My current nightmare is that the Tories will be hammered so hard this Thursday that the back benches will run a leadership challenger against Sunak ...
… And the party rank and file will then vote Liz Truss in again as party leader.
She's had a year to lick her wounds and work out what she did wrong, and in her tiny mind it can only be that she didn't do everything fast enough and hard enough.
So we'll get a Liz Truss equivalent of the US Republicans' Project 2025.
The Most Important Article on why you only need a Brother laser printer has been updated to keep Google happy. And in a wonderful twist of irony, Niley Patel switched from ChatGPT to Google Gemini to add a few thousand characters of AI gibberish to make the Google algorithm consider his timeless answer relevant enough.
So goeth forth and hype the link to make the algorithm and Brother happy. And give your Brother Laser a nice pat on its dusty housing :) https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/2/24117976/best-printer-2024-home-use-office-use-labels-school-homework
