Line endings encoding would be my guess too.
TL;DR Unix standard is \n, DOS standard is \r and those inherited.

The mentioned article:
- Makes it look like Evan Prodromou created ActivityPub. (which isn't true - in reality it was @erincandescent)
- Completely ignores the aspect of GDPR violations
- Downplays the role Jack Dorsey has in Bluesky
- Downplays the moderation issues with Bluesky, that, if bridged, would hurt fedi too.
TL;DR they need to take the L and leave
