@bolts in Switzerland you're registered for voting when you turn 18. You get your voting material (5 times a year) delivered at home. You fill it out, and send it back or drop it at the administration up to one week before the votations.
No long waiting lines, no drama about voting on workdays.
I never understood this thing about getting registered to vote. Once you're a citizen, why shouldn't you just be signed up automatically? Is this about missing address files?
