Now consider this plant cost a billion the price for proper treatment is 4 billion. However they spec it under capacity. Monroe county has 780 some million a year. So the cost would be nuts. Assuming they spec it right it could run north of 8 billion to 10 not clear.
These are the problems that we will face in the future and the prime candidate of what’s killing the oceans.

> In several years we won’t have enough specialists to treat the massive heart failure pandemic we’re currently causing.
"And COVID's gonna cause a Parkinson's pandemic and the Pulmonary Embolism pandemic and the Renal Failure pandemic..."
This is just like the "we only have 20 years" that the climate scientist have been saying for the last 60 years -- there's a kernel of truth somewhere in there but our ability to estimate the scope and timeline is usually wrong and every time we bang this drum we just piss people off and make them lose further trust in climate science. Now we're doing the same for virology / infections diseases. We always think we know more than we really do and we get way too confident about it.
So this is just gonna blow up in the faces of public health officials and further erode trust because we're guessing we understand the pathology of people exposed to COVID when in reality it's probably just "we spent a few billion dollars to hyper-focus on this one disease and now we have more data than we've ever had on a novel viral infection and think we're able to draw conclusions with a high level of accuracy" but in reality we probably aren't learning as much as we think.
It's like how everyone was screaming about the coral bleaching but weirdly enough we are observing the coral to be recovering in odd ways [1] (and we thought the bleaching was primarily co2, but it's nitrogen [2]), or the Redwood fires were going to be a disaster but hey weird look at that 1000 year old seedlings are taking off [3]
We need to stop being over-confident about things or at least journalists need to report news and data more ethically.
