Excerpt:
"We bought this land from someone Native. US dollars, of course. We pay the property taxes in US dollars, too, of course. It was bought and sold by white people before that a few times, but it was stolen before that.
An individual tribal member selling us a house and land under colonist rule hundreds of years since their genocide started doesn't change the fact that this is still N'dakina, and this land was stolen from the Abenaki. One Native person selling it to us does not speak for the tribe from the time it was stolen, nor the tribe of today. The only thing it says is that we live here now, and under conditions that are inextricably linked to violence, as is all land on Turtle Island."
Ascending up a level yet again, from what @hrefna and @inthehands are saying:

The options and capabilities that mastodon provides ("affordances") both reflect and shape assumptions about what can or should be done. There are reasons we spend so much time talking about block lists. A very big one is because that's the only option that mastodon provides.
I desperately want us to imagine more than that.
An illustration, if you will:
UK petition: Raise the DWP Christmas Bonus from £10 for the first time in 51 YEARS!!!
https://www.change.org/p/raise-the-dwp-christmas-bonus-from-10-for-the-first-time-in-51-years-%EF%B8%8F
Every year people in the UK on various benefits get a £10 [$12.72 USD, €11.54] bonus for Christmas, which has been unchanged for 51 years. If it had risen with inflation it'd be over £100 now. [$127.20 USD, €115.40]
It's condescending and insulting. So yeah, they should fix that.
