   @skinnylatte they're seems to be this widespread belief in the us that there is a single correct way to say/do things.

   As it turns out, things that are offensive in one place are not in others.

   A lot of things that are perfectly normal in the us will mark you as really rude in Sweden. Likewise, there are things I do in Singapore that's perfectly normal that would get me ostracised in the us

   @fluffy @p Ha ha, actually I do believe nuclear plants are a large part of the short term solution but one particular type of nuclear reactor, a molten salt fast-flux breeder reactor. The reason being a combination of inherent safety by the very physics of the plant, it's relative efficiency, it's lack of need for water, it's lower physical land requirements relative to other plant types, and it's ability to use long term actinide waste from existing plants as fuel, recover more than 20x as much energy from the waste as the original plant did from the fuel, produce waste that isn't bomb grade or readily made into bomb grade material, do reprocessing on site so little opportunity for terrorists to intercept transport, among other things.

   As for outlawing JavaScript, I would extend that to any language using garbage collection for memory management and any interpretive language that didn't use at least a just in time compiler with caching.

   @whitequark I use Konsole and Terminator for various things.

   As far as I can tell, Konsole lets you name tabs within a window, but the window title is always "$TITLE - Konsole".

   I want to be able to have a window titled "ProjectFoo" with tabs "Bar" and "Baz" inside it. Terminator can do this, but only if I manually name the tabs (there's no way to spawn the setup on demand so I can recreate it from a script)

   @mischievoustomato This video looks cursed and horrible but I can guarantee you that everything it contains is probably accurate despite how soy and cringe it might collect and present things.

   As a man, not getting married is one of the best things I've ever done for myself. This isn't cope. The first (and only) woman I ever truly loved---who I was engaged to at one time---cheated on me and ran off to the other end of the country (long story). The woman I should have predictably married, who is the mother of my daughter, is not a good human being and is actively trying to worsen my life since we broke up. ---And, had we gotten married, it would have been demonstrably worse. My only saving grace right now in the fallout of that disaster is that we never got married……otherwise, my situation would be a lot more fucked than it already is.

   When BigOil writes the laws, the only thing left to do is to break things.

   As surveillance capitalism grows, our window for being able to break things may be narrowing. I hope folks choose to view this as a call to action rather than give up on our collective futures.

   @danil @sos That would disappear literally the entirety of Unreal development[1], among other things.

   As for the original question, my boss has explicitly forbidden me from declaring multiple variables in a single line.

   [1] Unreal has its own implementation of a garbage collector, so no need to manage memory manually, but still pointers are used directly, and IsValid() is pretty much the top most used function.
