@thomasfuchs I get the sentiment, but the energy and water use really depends on a lot of factors, especially how far you drive.
My diesel does just under 50 UK mpg on a good day. Call it 10 miles a litre. A 240 mile round trip to see the family uses about 24 litres, seems right. 2.7kg of CO2 is released per litre of diesel burnt, so about 65kg for that round trip. If it was hauling a trailer or caravan it’d produce 3 or 4 times more.
