ATproto positions itself *specifically* as designed for not wanting to miss messages, and I talked previously about how ATProto's design requires a god's-eye view.

It sounds like they have some problem with vandalism and wild animals, but mostly what they're doing really works, they need to do four times as much of it, and the main problem is funding.

There are more reasons to be selective when choosing your instance. These were just some of the main aspects from my point of view.

In a situation with wrong on all sides, we need to be able to see the various wrongs of various sides, and also to weigh them against each other. Two great wrongs are not necessarily equivalent. Whether one wrong overrides or justifies another is a subtle question and it depends on details.
