A series of tweets by May "Bunny" Peterson (@maidensblade) posted on 2/5/2022, reading: Refresher: the idea that transfeminine people have a special privilege relative to other trans people/other women is part of a paradigm I call *transfeminized debt.* This notion is that we have something to “pay back” which justifies expecting labor, care, and deference from us Ideas of transfem male privilege, AMAB privilege, “trans women are the most visible trans people,” “trans women are big and strong,” exaggerating the real privileges transfems have, attributing false privileges or social power to transfems—these all part of that paradigm Transfeminized debt flows into transfeminized labor. Transfeminized labor is the “dirty work” that our gender minority is thought to be good for. We’re expected to care for cis people and other trans people because we’re not good for anything else.
