   Since 2016, Mr. Vance said his views on the former president have changed, and he’s recanted his statements from 2016.

   The reason for this, he said, was seeing how former President Trump handled the job.

   In a May interview with CNN, he told anchor Dana Bash, “I didn’t think he was going to be a good president, Dana, and I was very, very proud to be proven wrong. It’s one of the reasons why I’m working so hard to get him elected.”

   I’d like to close the loop on this and thank everyone who shared the above post and offered support.

   I’ve accepted an offer, and next week, I will be starting a new job.

   In my 25+ year career, this was the first time I’ve ever been laid off. It was humbling and the most stressful three-and-a-half months of my life.

   I know many others are going through similar experiences, and I was privileged to have resources and savings to keep me afloat during this time. (1/2)

   I'm v proud to be a member of the Samman Technical Coaching Society, which helps technical coaches do a better job.

   @clacke I used to work in soft-realtime safety-critical software, so this was a well-known and well-worn clip.

   We had to balance formal reasoning, semi-formal reasoning, loose arguments, and careful testing, and it was surprisingly interesting and satisfying.

   But in those cases we knew in advance what we were trying to achieve, and specifying that formally, or semi-formally, was part of the job.

   In this case I've hacked together something to see if it might be useful, and it's grown into a thing that people use.

   Software, eh?

   (Also, I'm interacting with reverse engineered interfaces to software I neither understand nor control. So ... yeah. Fun.)

   Opinion piece by John Stossel says "college is NOW a scam", emphasis mine.

   It has taken two+ decades for this Dipshit normie boomer to finally get a fucking clue.

   I'm not surprised his ignorance persisted this long. Boomers were able to pay their own way through college with a summer job and maybe a part-time job.

   In 2021-22, the annual cost to attend Penn State as an IN-STATE student was $38,270. This is more than half of the median US household income in that year ($70,784).

   Fuck colleges.
