Battered green desk surface, on the far left is some floral washi tape attached to the edge, then left to right we have three ply reverse twist - thin jute cordage which is darker than the others because its been cleaned and oiled. Then in the middle is 2 strand wrap where each strand is made from 2 (its quite thick and inflexible). Then we have regular 2 ply reverse wrap, it looks more uneven than the others partially because it includes splices whereas the others are made from single lines. Finally we have a bottle of Rimmel 60 second clear nail polish for scale.

Yesterday lunchtime featured learning how to weave jute twine into slightly more robust cords, one of which I then test singed to remove the fuzzies and gently oiled and it came out okay as a small 2.5-3mm utility cord (I then wrapped a present in it). I think I could make the 2 ply version neater with practice on the splices and now wondering about making a 3x2 ply version.
