Yes, the Strange Seawolf is a pen name, who would have guessed? I always wondered why, when given the freedom to pick any name you want, you choose one that sounds like another real person from Earth. In the world in my head, where I can be anything and am not restricted by physics and biology, I chose one that reflects what I want to be, rather than what I am. The seawolf is a mythological creature in many cultures of the North, both in Europe and America, bearing traits of both wolf and fish. Although there are variations, they are in general humble, generous, kind, and bring good luck to people who encounter them. So, I picture myself as a seawolf. A strange one, because unlike my siblings, I chose to live on land instead of the sea. I walk around from campfire to campfire and tell my stories about life and death, about grief and loss, about the horrible things creatures can do to each other, but, more than anything, about love, and hope, and the power that lies within every single creature to make a difference, no matter how unfortunate and unfair circumstances are. And if my stories made you at one point laugh and feel warm and fuzzy inside, my mission is accomplished. Before you know it, I will have disappeared. I am off to another campfire. But eventually, when you feel sad, and alone, and out of luck, I will return with another story. Until then, go ahead and be your own, awesome self. How do I know you are awesome? Well, I am a seawolf - we know. Good luck!
