Bookbinding project wrapped up (well, except for spending a bit more time in the press and drying, which will straighten up some the bit of waviness on the endpapers.)

This was mostly an experiment in printing bookcloth (finicky, but possible), practice making "common made" endpapers, and doing a rounded Bradel binding (a technique for forming the body of the book and making the outer case/covers.)

No time like the present to finally write an #introduction. I'm Dennis Wilkinson, and I've been playing software engineer for over 30 years now, mostly building interactive UIs, with a particular interest in software usability and humane interfaces.

I'm an avid home cook, amateur photographer, reader, maker of things, and learner. I've also seen a *lot* of movies. It's likely that photographs (of food, drink, birds, landscapes, and travel) will make up most of my contributions here.

Using #flowers cut from my wife's garden beds in front of the house to experiment with #scanography, after seeing some excellent examples of it at a gallery show I was a part of this past weekend. This was the most successful of the experiments. Using the scanner is easy; arranging the still life is the tricksy part.

I have a few ideas in mind. That probably make things tricksier, because me.
