I feel like maybe some of you take social media a little too seriously.

I’ve met that boobs donation guy at a meetup. He was nice enough to me, but gives off a greasy, sleazy creeper vibe. I think maybe we shouldn’t be encouraging him.

I’ve also hung out with that @mrman guy. If you spend five hours with him, he might say six words to you.

I guess the moral of the story is don’t get too attached to expectations.

@cake I see it more as a problem with the gamification of all facets of life. Dating isn't about finding compatible companionship for building a future anymore. It's about how many partners you can get, and how high up the social ladder they are, and all just for bragging rights.

It's the same as anything else. People aren't committed to building and hard work. They just want to consume and use with no long term game plan.

@groupw I have to manually adjust each one every couple of months or so. The owner's manual said not to over do it. So I don't even check unless something just sounds a little funny or off.

I think leaving it on for days on end is probably better than turning it on for just a few hours each day. The tube tinkle as they heat up and cool down. I'd wager that heat cycling is what's really doing most of the damage to tube life. Electronics nerds out there care to chime in?

Is vacuum tube life on an amplifier total operating hours? Or does turning it off and on a bunch reduce the life? I guess what I really want to know can I heat my room with my amp reasonably safely if I never turn it off?
