if i was designing video game world i would either do google image search on gems to see what they look like or just make up gems out of whole cloth

unreasonably annoyed that the lapis earrings in baldur's gate don't look like lapis at all

a moderation strategy that might work for mastodon is where you can toggle a new name and avatar for posts after you make them so that when it exits your orbit you can make it look like the post is from a cisgender man so that people stop making annoying comments on it
