republicans: "if we can't get the votes we'll just ignore the law."
this works for a very short time until you piss off all the people whose votes you couldn't get in the first place.

@CelloMomOnCars cities are going to have to upzone to get these people out of the danger zones. the resistance to anything other than suburban housing policies is killing our country.
@pluralistic nearly my whole damn life. is a sea change. praying that congress doesn't extend copyright backwards again.
you know, they say that up to 30% of americans can't drive for one reason or another but i'm convinced it's at least twice that and we just give them licenses anyway
@TheWarOnCars maybe if the DOT doesn't want people putting up fake signs calling out unsafe driving then they should do something about all the unsafe driving?
@br00t4c too frustrating to read this
This is an interesting observation. Trump has no platform, no ideas. He is simply an empty vessel for peoples’ grievances. https://www.threads.net/@kjybecauseisaidso/post/C7zY-ViucRD
Has anyone considered that if Congress repeals section 230 that mastodon almost certainly dies? If every person who runs a server is legally liable for what people post (or even what gets reposted automatically) then there will be no servers. Or maybe one big one with a subscription, but that’s it. Shared internet doesn’t work when you’re liable for everyone else’s behavior.
Yep, I like it

Focusing only on "incremental development” is inadequate and smacks of privilege. We’re 100 years into a truly radical, Jim-Crow-fueled land-control experiment that segregated neighborhoods and froze our most valuable land. We're not going to gentle-density our way out of this.
@benfulton how does building a train stop people from driving, Jake?
@jeffowski bookmarking helps with engagement? On mastodon?
