this works for a very short time until you piss off all the people whose votes you couldn't get in the first place.

Has anyone considered that if Congress repeals section 230 that mastodon almost certainly dies? If every person who runs a server is legally liable for what people post (or even what gets reposted automatically) then there will be no servers. Or maybe one big one with a subscription, but that’s it. Shared internet doesn’t work when you’re liable for everyone else’s behavior.
