"Australia's #nationaldebt hits $1 trillion as US debt passes $US40 trillion threshold"

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-08-20/asx-markets-business-news-live-updates-thursday-20-august/107056572

and just for the dots...

"in recent weeks, US Treasury helped orchestrate a joint rescue plan for Japan's ailing currency as both countries waded into the market to snap up #Yen for the first time in decades. It was yet another move that hinted of cracks within the US financial system.

Cynics couldn't help but join the dots.

#Japan is the biggest foreign owner of US government debt and, if it was forced to raise cash alone, it may need to sell US government bonds."

That would push US interest rates higher, something a hugely indebted #America can't afford."

"Australia's debt, when compared to the size of the economy, is negligible alongside that of most other developed nations.

At 32 per cent of GDP, #Australia ranks well down the #debt list.

Germany's debt pile is at a concerning 70 per cent of GDP, the United Kingdom at 95 per cent, the US at 125 per cent and Japan at an astonishing 250 per cent."

Bought a thing on #eBay
Its title was "Genuine Leather, Cowhide"

I received a cheap fake made from PU, polyurethane, a plastic polymer. It said so on the packaging too.

I raised a complaint with eBay.
Their AI responded within 30mins, stating "there's nothing wrong with this" and closed my complaint.

👀🤬🤯🤬 rest assured I'm not done with this
