Eastern Gray #Squirrel on our back fence. Very cold for them here this week, had a few nights go below freezing, more to come they say. I put out peanuts on our back fence feeders every morning, and there is a competition with the blue jays and woodpeckers and each other to snatch them up. They go quickly.

It’s been a rough week for Jasper, he became very sick last weekend and spent most of the week in the hospital. Old age & kidney issues catching up to him (he’s 15). But they were able to get his levels back down close to normal and he is now back home with his humans (& those stinkin’ dogs), has his warm comfy blanket, a good appetite & is drinking water. Thankful. Here he’s getting some outside time in the nice weather (under supervision).

Throwback photo for #Caturday, from a few years ago taken soon after we moved to this house. Back then Jasper still came up to visit me in my office, usually taking over my desk and putting a halt to all productive work. Between then and now Jasper (now 15 years old) slowed down a good bit and has retired from unnecessary exertion, including stair climbing, so he no longer comes up to disrupt my day. I miss that.
