At last, barely managed to get myself reconnected. I now got a somewhat stable broadband connection. Yet to see how this is going to work when it is raining though.
If you are expecting emails or IM replies from me, please wait till Tuesday. I am having a broadband outage. Getting the connection replaced within the next couple of days. Call if it is urgent. Thanks!
For the German and British ruling class, Waters’ “crimes” are that he has repeatedly expressed opposition to the US-NATO-instigated war against Russia in Ukraine—for which he has been smeared as a propagandist for Putin—and his vocal support of the Palestinian people in the face of criminal attacks on them by the State of Israel, for which he is falsely denounced as an anti-Semite.
Important update : It turns out that #Epicyon does support full text search of your own posts! I was just told that using an ' (apostrophe) right before the search string indicates a full text search.
A hidden gem or a not-so-well-documented feature in Epicyon. For example, if I want to find my posts that mention WordPress, I should enter 'WordPress in the search box. If I wish to find out my posts about "colours and composition", I should enter 'colours and composition.
I got caught in the rain while cycling and then almost got run over by a tuk-tuk. The driver overtook me from right while he was about to turn left, and then turned sharp left missing my front wheel by millimeters.
He got stuck because there was a car coming from that direction. I was shouting at him. Then both of us were shouting at each other. I doubt we heard each other because of the traffic noise. I think I heard him shouting, 'who are you to tell me how to drive? Are you a cop?'
I understand it requires loads of resources if you want to implement full text search for the entire history of posts, including full threads with replies posted by others. Not really feasible for those who run smaller or single user instances.
This is one of the things I frequently do on Twitter. Go back to old posts (sometimes years old posts) and threads and revive them in a new context. I wouldn't know if a post or a thread will end up that interesting or relevant to me when I post them. And I wouldn't want to add hashtags and make them unnecessarily visible to the entire network all the time.
Fedizens, what is the #fediverse microblogging platform that has the best support for text search? ("Search" as in searching your own past posts). I am kind of dissatisfied with both platforms I use (Mastodon, Epicyon) because I sometimes want to go back and find older conversations, posts, DM/PMs and stuff.
