Threads is like a "baby with the bathwater" argument so far...

I know miles vary by vehicle, but Mastodon is the only social media I have ever gotten on for weeks at a time without getting annoyed at anyone

I was shopping for it anyway and they had a 100+ oz bottle of virgin olive oil at the grocery for 50% off ... So this is my life now...

I don't tend to get sick very often, but about once every 2-3 years I have a weird "stay in bed all day and get super hot to the touch while being completely freezing internally" days but I'm almost always fine the next day.

Today was one of those weird days, so here's hoping tomorrow does what it's supposed to.

I think the thing I appreciate most about #Mastodon is it reminds me of a mashed-up #80s #BBS + #Usenet in two key ways

* You have your "main group" of folks you generally BS with, but can branch out deeper and learn from an entirely new set folks on a core subject at any time

* I can be my real self online because I have absolutely zero concern that any #family / #work mate I may offend will ever see anything I post here

Best thing I've heard this year was at a bar where a guy was having a swimming time with his date until he tried to mansplain why Roe v. Wade getting overturned was the right move and his date was having nothing to do with it

He tried to Gish Gallop his way out of it and she kept bringing it back to Roe v. Wade and he is straight up having the absolute worse day of his life...

If you see the 🎯 emoji while scrolling through #LinkedIn just skip over the message entirely because it's code 99% of the time for "posted by a bootlicking corporate simp"

Love that some really aggressive #bot has been scraping the shit out of the public message platform on my game so unabashedly that I had to move my directory twice in the last month and send them to a 404 Honeypot

As soon as I have time I'ma create a random word generator that looks like my message board that just feeds their #scraper a buffet of structurally sound word soup
