@evan Grew some pawpaw trees from seeds over the last two years. Planted six in the yard last summer, gave the rest away. Curious to see how they dealt with their first in-ground winter.

Kirk Kittell (kittell@universeodon.com)'s status on Friday, 20-Jan-2023 11:47:21 JST Kirk Kittell @evan I don't think scruples got in the way of a choice (I agree with what you said, it is imaginary and low stakes). I think that, underneath the immediate response of "it depends", that I've seen similar scenarios in others and myself that didn't resolve clearly to a single answer. Some people ended a long relationship and it was shattering; some ended one at it was relieving. Just a big variance, I guess.

In fact, I would hate to have a template or standard approach to apply to the situation you posed. Seems like it would be different for different people in different situations.

Kirk Kittell (kittell@universeodon.com)'s status on Friday, 06-Jan-2023 08:00:58 JST Kirk Kittell @evan Good luck and have fun. Occasionally I'll take some online CS courses from University of Illinois, where I studied engineering half my life ago (while managing to avoid all but the intro to CS course). On one hand I'm a much better student now because I have some feeling for the application of the lessons and I can focus. On the other hand, damn, taking actual CS courses with actual grad students with just my self-taught CS skills was like taking a baseball bat to the groin.
