@br00t4c If DHS were a real thing instead of an authoritarian pork barrel, that statement wouldn't even make any sense.

Because they are just a pork barrel though, it's easy to believe security was breached by genuinely dangerous people.

To do the job people want done requires a real journalist with real expert training to supervise every letter the AI generates and then a real editor with real qualifications to do their thing at it.

The only thing this is really good at is making sure the humans don't get credit for their contributions to the process.

When woodworking CNC broke out into the mainstream, it wasn't followed by the entire world suddenly firing all the woodworkers and accepting shitty amateur furniture as the new permanent industry standard.

It's kind of amazing that people treat the craft of software so differently given how important it is to everybody at this point.

We can't on one hand object to the ICC holding us accountable and then use it as a political cudgel domestically.

War crimes matter enough for the ICC involvement or they don't matter. No middle ground.

They have weapons only for defense of threatened humans, not property.
Their job is to uphold the law.

The MAGAts are omnipresent, a threat that never backs off one whit. Allies are thin on the ground and largely in the same very disempowered/learned helplessness states, not to mention spread thin across the country.

We're not numb, we're overwhelmed. We all want to help but none of us want to be the one who gets martyred in vain.

@br00t4c Re-nationalizing space isn't the worst outcome. NASA was pretty damn good at the job when Republicans weren't kicking their legs out from under them.
