The official Mastodon Android app crashed while I was writing that post and I had to write it again. Specifically when it generated the hashtag completions for "Fedora".

Lately I've been looking for a reason (or just an excuse) to run #Debian on my desktop instead of #Fedora . But Fedora is just so good, that I'm not finding one.

What is wrong with humans, that there's more money in advertising, than there is in the things being advertised?

There are a bunch of similar shirts for sale that say "Enable MFA". While funny and having good intentions, they make me turn into that "well akshually" guy. IMO only some forms of MFA are worth using, instead of just having better password hygiene. And really only unphishable FIDO keys are worth using for really serious accounts.

I caught #Bitwarden misbehaving this morning. I unsuspended my computer, and for some reason it wasn't locked. I tried to search for a login and it wouldn't find anything. I manually brought up that login and it had an old password, so it wasn't syncing. It wouldn't manually sync either.

I closed Firefox and opened it again, and all was well. But that was odd.

@bitwarden I like how even Bitwarden's own docs don't recommend using the encrypted export for backup. I've been disappointed in the way that was designed since it appeared.

@bitwarden What I wished for, was an encrypted backup that was in some standard format that I could decrypt with a standard tool, using my master password.

What I actually do now is maintain in parallel a KeePass database with the same data I have in Bitwarden. And that is my backup.

@bitwarden I was reasonably happy with the GUI export function of the browser extensions. But for other reasons, it became inconvenient to encrypt my backups. So I moved to that crazy KeePass solution.

Don't get me wrong, I'm overall a happy Bitwarden customer.
