Been thinking recently there should be a soap opera that subtly demonstrates pathways towards community action, resolving/exploring social justice issues etc, and the drama comes in showing the pitfalls and challenges that can arise within those contexts, interpersonal conflicts within movements etc. As a soap, you'd be writing it around the drama, but really it's an instruction manual.
DfE has opened a consultation on draft guidance for schools and colleges about children questioning their gender. Speak up to say "this shit is *not* ok" on record regarding the government's proposal to require schools to tell parents their child is transgender/non-binary. If we don't fill out these forms, the transmisics, transphobes and TERFs will be. The consultation is open until 11.59pm on the 12th of March. https://consult.education.gov.uk/equalities-political-impartiality-anti-bullying-team/gender-questioning-children-proposed-guidance/
For 2024, I'd like us all here to learn deep within our souls that white silence is violence. If you want a future that "works" for all in theory (you're ~totally not racist~, right?), then put some of that "work" into practise and we might even get there? See something, do something.
@HauntedOwlbear@t54r4n1 they've been playing a bit of Lego Racers on my lil handheld emulation thing so more Lego games is probs a good idea! Yooka-Laylee looks good, maybe seeing how she is with some easier action adventure stuff might be a good fit x
I've got a 2011 27" i7/8GB/1TB iMac going spare if anyone in the midlands wants to come get it. Should be good still if you put some sort of Linux on it (can run up to macOS High Sierra)
My favourite thing about a lot of Dell AC/DC adapters is that sometimes if the DC jack on the laptop breaks it does so in just a way that it means the adapter still works but the chip that signals that it's a genuine adapter blows so it becomes e-waste for literally no reason at all because it refuses to charge the battery with it
Hardware DRM is the absolute pits. It turns a (no more than ยฃ10 in parts) DC jack replacement which is fairly straightforward in these laptops, usually requiring no specialist tools too, into a repair that also requires a new power adapter (much more expensive)
