The Times of India is reporting that there are hundreds of international students across the U.S. getting their student visas immediately revoked, reportedly for supporting Gaza on social media.

This is apparently based on Marco Rubio’s directive to analyze students' social media posts.

Targeted students have to immediately leave the country, and submit their physical passports to US embassies so their visas can be canceled.

It’s not surprising that there are a thousand (?) people at the Berkeley, California #TeslaTakedown protests, including so many old friends.

But across the country, deep in the suburbs, people are finding each other and building networks at Tesla dealerships.

This weekend, on the first day of Ramadan, Berkeley Community Physical Therapy, owned by an Iranian American Muslim woman Negeene Mosaed, was defaced with the words "Fuck Islam" scrawled across its windows.

This is just one of an upsurge of anti-muslim anti-Palestinian hate around the U.S. after October 7.

But here's what's important: ~100 community members gathered yesterday to show love and solidarity.

I'm thinking a lot about two incidents of violence, and how they play off what's happening in the news.

Leelamma Lal, a 67 year old Indian American nurse, was brutally attacked at her hospital in Florida, and suffered severe life-threatening injuries.

The attacker said “Indians are bad. I just beat the shit out of an Indian doctor”

This isn't not only about one specific case: it reflects the violence healthcare workers face, and racist narratives in the community

DOGE just murdered 18F (https://18f.gsa.gov/) — the government digital improvement team that's the LITERAL DEFINITION of scrappy tech-enabled government modernization.

Any rational Trump/Musk administration would take over 18F, rename them "DOGE," and claim all the credit. This makes absolutely no sense.
