It's called a "Flemish Bond" pattern. You'll see many historical buildings with this pattern. The architect used it for all the original buildings at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, NC. I'm so old, those buildings are now historical.

My Daddy built things. Like Wake Forest University, Bowman Gray School of Medicine, hospitals, huge textile mills (before fabric making moved overseas). Well, of the six kids, I was the only one who was fascinated by building things. He took us all on a 6 hour, one way field trip to see the brick pattern at an historical building site. When I went on a pilgrimage to childhood memories, I went there again.

During the Vietnam War, 58,000+ US soldiers were killed. There was a comprehensive draft, and then a draft lottery. There were millions of casualties, overall, and direct US military involvement. The war raged for 20 years. The WWII generation was responsible for our involvement, and the post war generation resisted mightily. So, as awful as Gaza has been, US citizens have not been as personally involved as in the 1955-75 Vietnam War.

Winnie has a little home garden #Sniffari. I forget how enjoyable this is for dogs.
