Mastodon/Fediverse has trained me so well with the ubiquitous Alt text that whenever I'm outside it and look at something I can't make out all the details of, I attempt to read the Alt text, find it doesn't exist, get annoyed, and then have a sort of reality readjustment when I have to remember they're not actually ubiquitous and available elsewhere.
...And I still can't make sense of what I'm looking at!

For sure I was thinking of doing something today, but thus far it escapes me.

In the night all three cats decided they wanted to sleep on me, and I woke up at one point to the biggest one, Pörri, daintily and carefully settling on my chest, while I had Kerv in the crook of my arm and neck, and Musti on my legs. And then I fell asleep and woke up to my alarm at about noon like I time travelled. 😆 I don't know if my brain can handle that much sleep

Oh yeah, I was thinking of putting together the panel for the soutache for the linen skirt. My initial plan is to tape together the pattern pieces, draft a whole wedge from that, scribble something on it, then trace the scribble onto the white linen that is sheer enough to see through... And then attach that to the skirt, sewing through all layers by hand to make it appear on the right side... And then sew on soutache by hand for a million years.

Also I need to think of a project hashtag.

Drafted the shape for the base of where the soutache can go, and... A sir is being very helpful.
He likes the crinkle the paper makes.

Well. That took absolutely no time at all to get drastically out of hand.

The eye demands more feathers, and more complicated feathers. The brain reminds me that I'll be sewing all of that on by hand!

There's four feathers in all, and I've somehow managed to trace them onto the linen, and the linen with the pattern is now basted onto the wrong side of the skirt, and... I guess now I need to start going over the pattern with black thread so I can see it from the right side?

This is going to take fucking forever. 😅

It's a little bit wobbly because this is literally the first time I've ever sewn on soutache and I'm deeply thankful for my demi-ambidextrous brain because that helped. Oh heck!

Size comparison of my three cats, from smallest to largest! Me for scale!

It is I, the #OutsideGirl! And today I have gone to the fabric shop to buy more of the nice patterning paper that comes in this fairly huge roll that lasts forever until it doesn't. Also a bunch of cotton plaid flannel and a reasonably small amount of green cotton twill for a warmer skirt I only somewhat need. Also: Snow!

Mother brought me an electric toothbrush as it was recommended by a dentist, I'd just been brushing my teeth manually like a pleb all these years... Anyway, they made the bold choice to only put in a paper version of the warranty and safety instructions etc. and absolutely nothing for use instructions, just a QR code to a video!

Guess I'll never know what the lights and indicators do, pressing the one button seems to turn it on and off again. 😆

Mother was also present to take a photo when Karvinen decreed that it was kitty backpack time and proceeded to hang out on my back for many many minutes.

Gaze not overlong on how my shirt doesn't go with my jacket, gaze upon cat instead!

He likes sitting where my sewing machine is because of the warm radiator, but also when I sit down on the machine he thinks I've joined him, and initiates the cuddles.

I've managed to start making some more barely useful underwear out of scraps of this very fine cotton muslin (the sheer drape-y kind, not the stiff unbleached mock-up kind) I ended up with when I accidentally started using the wrong fabric for that lace skirt I made a couple of months ago. And it's one of those things where I have to manage a couple of machine sewn seams so I can leisurely do a lot of hand sewing while listening to my shows. But the brain, the executive function! Where!

It's not the absolute neatest work I've ever done but I hope you'll still find it suitably impressive. The hip gussets! They're on, and the side seams have been joined in such a way that they all match!

And then there's Furious Paddling down below. 😆 Here's the furious paddling, I had to unpick and redo and go over the same spots so many times...

For months he's worked at clawing off the protective film on my new PC case. Today, he finally did it! I let him unroll it until he started trying to chew it, and then took the rest off. 😆
