The nested post on the 16th recommended signing the petition to formulate laws to regulate data centres, on the Finnish national citizen's initiative site, which upon receiving 50k signatures is passed onto the parliament, cabinets, law makers or whichever limb of government it addresses to actually vote on.
It's been up since the 15.9. and has almost 61k signatures in just a couple of days. People ABSOLUTELY HATE data centres and wow they should, but it's so nice to see and that's one beautiful graph as well. Just shooting up into the sky!

Mmm, colours and shapes...
Quilt is progressing, this topstitching bit is much more enjoyable what with the decorative stitches and the lack of batting. It's so so much nicer than without them and with the batting! I might actually finish this at some point!

1. A first person view down to a small ocean of colourful quilt wedged under the working bit of a sewing machine. There's too much to fit flat, so it's gracefully folding in sort of waves or ripples of fabric. There's medium brown decorative topstitch on top of multiple rows of blocks, on top of the seams, and many yet not stitched. There's big diagonal basting stitches holding the layers together. It's all a nice medley of browns, blues, teals, reddish orange and yellow. Sort of like autumn trees reflected on a lake. Sini's pink hand in the bottom left, holding onto the quilt.

The cat has his eyes and face upturned, staring. His eyes are yellow and green and his little face is kind of intense, as he's doing one of his favourite things, staring at Sini's face. His whiskers are lovely and white, his fur shiny and dark like sumptuous black velvet. The lights and shadows in the photo are quite lovely. In the background, on the shiny parquet floor, lies a single abandoned sock.

CW eye contact, nothing but eye contact, this is a photo of Karvinen staring into your very soul and almost nothing but the stare!
I was mostly trying to document the little freckle he has in one eye as he was gazing at me, and almost got it into focus before I was furiously cuddled by him so this is the best I got...

1. A very close up photo of a ginger tabby cat with green eyes staring into the camera. The focus the camera chose to take is actually on the ocean currents of the tiny little hairs of fur on his nose and forehead, with the eyes slightly soft, and the many black freckles on his pink nose. His eyes are very pretty though, a sort of deep green as the dominant hue, mixed with a paler yellow, and sprinklings of orange, even bluish green, and even brown. His right eye has a warm brown spot near the edge of the iris, very reminiscent of the flame of labradorite and other brilliantly multi-coloured pretty stones get. His whiskers, mostly white, have a couple of errant black ones where he's gained a freckle right there also. And oh, is he just gazing back!

The cat bed now has a dark blue with white flowers covering. Behind him, the black cat looking flabbergasted with life, hunched down in a crouch as if not yet decided whether to nap or not. Behind them, blurry and glowing with late evening golden sunlight, the brown tabby. The curtains have been drawn against the low sun, but are mostly sheer because of the strength of it.

They're loafing in similar poses, one on just plain desk and one on a cat bed covered by a floral pillowcase. They're both looking up and to the right a little bit, looking very charismatic and cute and like they're paying attention, and fairly enormous considering how much they take up of the desk. The decor holds the same hues of greens and pinks as the pillowcase, behind them is a sewing machine, and on the left a slightly crudded looking cat food tray.

2. The same black cat, but in slightly different light and time of day, and with a ginger tabby cat rolled up into a cat croissant on the cat bed behind him. The black cat is looking towards the camera in a calm way, like he's only slightly being tried by the human bothering him with photo taking. His little white paws are daintily tucked together, and the ginger cat is mostly just an orange blob, his back towards us. The curtains in the background are darker, with the blinds closed, the room cast in partial shadow.

For morale reasons, please admire these sleeves that I intensively pattern matched when I made this 1780s or so Redingote. It was slow but relatively easy and very very satisfying because I did all of it by hand! Photo of the whole thing attached to show just how very little it's even seen, and yet!

1. A close up photo of two sleeves laid out on a desk. They're two part sleeves, form fitting, and made out of a reddish brown and a darker brown striped cotton. The cuffs and sleeves have the stripe going opposite ways for contrast, and the stripes along the seams match beautifully. Beautifully! All of the way as is visible in the photo, the stripes form absolutely perfect matching chevrons despite the not at all identical curves. There are also ten hand sewn buttonholes and ten fabric covered buttons on the cuffs, very decorative though not quite as impeccable as the stripe matching, which looks almost fake it's so precise, barely a millimetre off here or there along dozens of matching points.

2. A starkly lit photo of Sini wearing the finished thing the sleeves are part of, which is an 18th century riding ensemble or gown. A slightly shorter petticoat of the same striped fabric and the coat-inspired dress part, which has a very low open neck filled out with an ivory with yellow flowers fichu, wide mantled collars, six pairs of buttons down the front, and long fitting sleeves. The hips are very very padded and wide, the waist looking small and conical in comparison. With the pale gray curly wig half down and half up, red lip, cheeks and powdered face, it's a reasonable approximation of a fashionable lady from the time, though a bit plain and dark. More like a witch pretending to be a lady.

Finnish lesson of the day, word "jeesustella", verb, not capitalized: To act in a way of hubristic moral superiority, to rub religious mores in the face of someone not interested, to act holier than thou, to be judgemental.
Use in sentence: "Älä sinä saatana jeesustele mulle siinä..."
Literal translation: "Don't you Devil be Jesus-ing at me right now..."
Natural translation: "Fucking stop acting like you're better than me!"
Ah, Finnish. Irrevent, making up fun new ways to use existing words, making verbs out of anything. It's a good word.

He is using all of his knowledge of how to be cute to make sure his nice warm human sits back down as soon as possible. His front paws are side by side, his tail curled like the coil of a serpent, and his gaze, ears and whiskers are all turned towards the human. The chair, a classic spoke one, looks nice and there's cosy sewing stuff on the desk. The colours are a bit weird, as the phone tried to compensate for the backlight from the window, and went overboard. The screen directly behind the cat has been manually blurred.

1. A ginger cat is on his back and his side on a colourful quilt with his paws curled up and legs sprawled in a sort of croissant formation. A pale human hand is gently resting on his soft looking body, sinking into his even softer looking creamy and copper striped fur. On his little kitty face a look of relaxed forbearance or even indifferent enjoyment, eyes half closed. The hand just resting there, for the photo, is less preferable than the hand doing gentle pets, which continued right after the photo. Most of the photo is just cat flank, with lens distortion and the framing. The tum, it is being touched.
