I never did do an introduction thread, but now I've got a more people in my follow request limbo than actual followers, mostly because I started out looking at profiles and wondering why people without filled out profiles and self-described centrists and liberals even wanted to follow me, and then I started thinking, "Well, I have to go through that list anyway. I'll deal with it later," about everything.

It occurred to me that the liberals/centrists may have seen a tweet and it seemed like a good idea to follow, and without further context, they did. So I'm writing this to address that and them.

First thing you should know about me is that I'm an anarchist. NOT anarcho-anything. Just anarchist.

Even "more than" I'm Black. Even "more than" I'm a woman. I am and have always been an anarchist. Even before I knew what the word meant. I will expand on this later. (Of course I will. I'm an anarchist; we love to tell you why.)

Second, I'm Black.
I do not have patience for the peculiarly American nonsense that is, "Well, you're not *really* Black," that I've been experiencing for 30 or so years.

I don't care if you mean that as a compliment. In fact, that's even WORSE than when you mean it as an insult. I will take your observation that I, having grown up in Northern Ontario, do not sound, move, or feel, like other Black people you've "known" from either The South, or the "inner city", because, guess what? There are lots of Black people on this planet who are from neither.

I accept that I have had a weirdly insulating early life experience as a result of being one of two Black families in a small town, which leads white people to make an exception in their brains about "their" Black people, which is probably why my politicization led to anarchism as the priority.

I also accept that I didn't really understand what was actually at play as a child. But, know what? You play catch up on fast forward the second you step out of that environment.

And since it did take that peculiarly American honesty to retroactively clarify just what was going on in white people's brains, thank you. But I am not a fan.

Third, I'm a woman.
So, if you haven't yet figured it out yet, this is in descending order of Why You Might Not Be a Good Fit as a Follower. And no, I am not using reverse psychology to lure you into wanting to follow me.

I'm about 20 years into becoming crotchety, not that I ever was particularly known for having patience.

If you're still reading for some reason, I post about growing and finding mushrooms, gardening, cats, and hating cops. And how fucked up society is, and that we're overdue for an asteroid.
(I used to be known for saying "people are the problem; bird flu is the answer," but then covid hit and it became clear that flus are in fact not the answer, so asteroid it is.)

One even leant her privilege by COMING INSIDE THE STATION with me, and we STILL DIDN'T get them to take the incident report, even after showing the video to the Desk Duty cop.

Weird how the woman who has been stalking me for months and months has zero footage of me doing anything other than standing off to the side, watching what's happening, staring at my phone, and walking around.

You'd think the whole "violent Black woman" narrative would be enhanced by some of that footage.

God knows #CreepySpouseInDaHouse has tried to provoke enough, couldn't even get me to press a button, and only got a mild response by forcing me into traffic.
