Kitchens seem popular for recording these days. Nothing wrong with that but the acoustics of mine are shit.

I struggle with the whole concept of noodling versus writing to goals. I think all composing requires experiments, tests if you like.
You're maybe just not aiming to get to an orthodox goal in the music, short of it or even well beyond.

I'm just unsure now what I am in some kind of needless and weird existential crisis.

Ha ha... perhaps I should qualify it then.
I mean those who seem to, or feel as if they seem to, just dip into available tones and layer them up. It strikes me as a more predictable use of sounds than striving to create unpredictable ones.
Thus... less experimental.

I think #ExperimentalMusic is such a broad #genre now that people may ultimately come to reject it.
By this I mean that some of my own stuff is perhaps more experimental in desire rather than product. Sure, it may contain some novel approaches to sound but I no longer consider this as experimental.
A lot of the stuff I listen to is not experimental and is rather more 'ambient glueing'

I think that now, I am perhaps an Experimentalist making alternative Alternative.
