@ryo Only thing I remember explicitly being annoyed by lately is their newsletter going woke: I ultimately unsubbed and only enabled Firefox related news. Too much crying about hate or "misinformation" or whatever. Wish they'd stick to the rule of less caring about social issues, more caring about giving everyone free private and secure software to show the middle finger to society and do what they want.

@ryo Bonus fact: #Mozilla got lots of love from me after they caused panic in the #British government a few years ago. #Firefox was the first browser to implement #DHCP which broke their "for the children TM" nationwide #censorship apparatus and caused a state of emergency in the #UK gov because heresy was no longer censored. IIRC British politicians even called in a meeting with the company... the fucking times we live in ?

@ryo Thanks. FF is working well for me and I have everything set up for ages, been my only browser for nearly 20 years now I think? But it is a big product and those are typically targeted, so users should always be on the lookout and ready to stop any dumb decision from being taken.

@ryo Unfortunately this is sometimes true... namely as woke fascist behavior seems to be making its way into #FOSS nowadays. I use #Firefox because it's the best in my book and I legitimately don't have any real complaints, though I've seen #Mozilla do stupid things in the past and called them out.

@ryo Only reason I'm happy about this particular incident is that people seeking to protect children from "grooming" are usually tyrants trying to "protect" them from having any kind of life at all due to brainless paranoia especially of absolutely everything sexual. This is conservative progressives getting a sweet taste of their own medicine. How's that dream about cancel culture working to forever serve you going?

@ryo I think #PayPal has reached the point where it shouldn't be considered a mere service or payment processor: It should be classified as a branch of government. Both because it's taken it upon itself to act as one and police society based on personal doctrine, and because it always manages to do it thanks to everything in the world being a monopoly and almost every commercial service depending on them.

@ryo Can't wait for people who not only want such a thing but are stupid enough to think it actually works randomly denying entry to their friends and relatives because a broken product told them so. Helps those people drive themselves away from civilization at a faster rate, which I for one gladly welcome!

@ryo Imagine your one job being to tell people the reality decided for them by the government, then someone asking you for transparency. Now that must be a nightmare... a wonderful nightmare for the rest of us!

@fluffy While I hope these monstrosities never win in any form, I love watching even them troll the fake free world and help keep things balanced. If everyone's a crazed dictator, I guess all we have left is making them fight each other so neither of them get to take over.

@ryo We still had nice things in the 2005's which is when I really got on the internet. Been slowly getting more foolish and authoritarian since. Never thought I'd have to miss those days as much.
