It is quite fascinating to see how much distance there is between Silicon Valley investors and other people when speaking about tech. “Crypto will bring back power from big tech to the hand of the people” WTF are you taking about???
#censure#censxures https://www.linforme.com/tech-telecom/article/blocage-des-sites-pornos-la-grosse-bourde-des-associations_2306.html
One thing I like in all this AI / algorithmic frenzy is how much we are going back to good old human subjectivity: recommendations by people we like, supporting people because we like them not because their work is perfect etc. It is obvious with music where we want people's playlists rather than being lost in algorithmic decisions, but also happening with books, articles etc.
@rysiek such a classic case of centrist / leftist pushing for more security laws and more power of government against civil society and then realizing it can be abused when far right get elected. But the problem is them not considering that the law is a bad idea in the first place, even under a democrat government, it makes me think that they don’t really care about democracy
I am starting to use Shaarli to share links here : https://shaarli.randhome.io/ It maintains a database of all the links I share with tags, post directly here, you can RSS them or search in them. Sounds like a good way to build a knowledge base (I'll keep the shitpost for Mastodon only)
I discovered this Year Compass from a friend and it seems awesome. No CCC for me this year sadly, so I'll plan some introspective time instead https://yearcompass.com/
