Scientists have been pounding the table warning about climate change for decades, often at the expense of their own careers, only to be ignored by politicians.
And now that the climate is spinning out of control, it's somehow the fault of scientists??

How is it possible in this day and age for either individuals or officials to round up immigrants, charter private planes, fly them across state lines, and we can't figure out precisely who's responsible??

Akin to saying:
Cutting smoking would be a terrible way to reduce lung cancer.

Allstate has joined State Farm in refusing to issue new homeowners insurance.

Do you realize the economic consequences of this threat of climate change? New homeowners will be unlikely to get new mortgages without insurance, and the costs will skyrocket.

Climate changes are going to have economic consequences far exceeding what traditional economists ever predicted.

The only effective Republican right now is Joe Manchin.

It is time for Los Angeles to end its diversion of water from the Mono Lake basin and surrender the water right. It's a tiny amount of water (1-3% of DWP's supply) -- easily replaced by small efficiency improvements or more wastewater reuse, and it would help restore the perpetually threatened ecosystems of Mono Lake.

Very bad news about the planet's cryosphere. The ice is disappearing as #climatechange accelerates. Just 2 examples:

The Greenland Ice Sheet ended with a negative total mass balance for the 26th YEAR IN A ROW.

Global mean sea level reached a new record high for the satellite altimeter record (1993-2022). The rate of global mean sea level rise has DOUBLED between the first decade of the satellite record.

I don't know which is worse, that the impacts of climate change long forecast by scientists are now coming true, or that political leaders STILL won't act with the urgency the crisis requires.

Climate change and extreme events are explicitly mentioned as a reason insurance companies are withdrawing from markets with skyrocketing risks.
