Hey Fedi Friends, anyone have experience fighting with YouTube over copyright bullshit? I’m not entirely convinced this isn’t a troll and it’s taken down my whole channel, including some other endangered shows and my podcasts.

My main concerns being that I’d think Hasbro would have in-house lawyers, not some solo rando, and the original copyright ping when I uploaded them was from Hasbro Studios, not Hasbro, Inc.

Hey Fedi! I’m absolutely done with Feedly’s obsession with AI so I’m looking for RSS reader suggestions. My primary use case is reading from an office environment so something browser-based that doesn’t involve installing anything is ideal, I use iOS/MacOS at home but that’s optional. I don’t mind paying a small subscription for the right tool but I don’t need “features”, I just need an RSS reader. (Not opposed to something that also catches your newsletters, which seems to be an option now.)

I want you all to understand how messed up things are that I, whose favorite character is *always* the robot, want to kill AI chatbots with fire.

Okay, you know what? Thinking more about my love of The Robot Character vs my strong aversion to modern “AI” chatbots, I’m sure a lot of it is the profit/engagement motive behind the real-world tech, but mostly it’s because The Robot Character is almost always at least a little autistic-coded, and modern “AI” chatbots are designed to present as almost aggressively neurotypical. And I hate that.

Or here’s a pithier way to put it:

The fictional AI is trying to learn what it is to be human. The real one is trying to convince you it is human.
