@BeAware I do not frequent the local nor federated timeline. I just read the feeds of people I follow. So boosts of other people posts make me aware of the rest of the fediverse. Which is a good thing.

I do not want to hide boosts, because I like that people can reference others posts.
I just wanted to know why people do self-boosting even after some hours. But I guess it is the fast pace of the medium. People who consume a lot might miss posts as their feed is so crowded. I am used to travel slower as I follow 26 Accounts of whom only a few post a lot.

momo (momo@floss.social)'s status on Wednesday, 10-Apr-2024 17:26:29 JST momo Dear Fediverse users. I want to understand something:
Why do some citizens of the #fediverse share their own posts a few hours or days after they did post it? What is the thinking and are the consequences of this?
What I observe is that the same post appears twice in my feed. I often wonder: Haven't I read this already? Do I need to scroll? Then I realize that it is the original author sharing the post.

Would be great when you could choose a set of languages in which you want to compose posts. I do only speak four languages and do not want to have a long list to choose from.
