all of my grandparents have been buying iPads or slightly crap android tablets for as long as they've been around, they really do seem to love the things

@NeonPurpleStar personally I've had a Pixel C tablet for a couple years (was an old retired devkit from work actually).

I barely use it these days and often forget it exists, I just find it a little too large and cumbersome to use

I will admit I have been tempted by an iPad mini because of the smaller size though (its about the same size as some little notebooks I like to carry around)

@NeonPurpleStar in fact I believe the Up! just has a phone holder on the dashboard as standard instead of any infotainment system

@NeonPurpleStar VW Up! is still in production i believe, cheap stuff like that usually doesn’t have a touch screen

@NeonPurpleStar considering that some car makers are trying to actively kill it (looking at you GM), probably not

but that said, the market has spoken and it likes GAuto / CarPlay and its hard to blame them, automakers infotainment systems are god awful
