     @6a62 automaker infotainment systems are bad indeed
     
     but nonetheless, can apple and google stop extending the play/app store to literally everything?
     
     we should be able to have electronic things without them being present, and they seem to be heavily against that
     
     this is not the future i want to see, to be digitally beholden to two ruthlessly capitalist entities

     @NeonPurpleStar considering that some car makers are trying to actively kill it (looking at you GM), probably not

     but that said, the market has spoken and it likes GAuto / CarPlay and its hard to blame them, automakers infotainment systems are god awful

     @6a62 i mean, sure i prefer bikes as well
     
     but what i just described stresses me out a lot, i don't want everything to need a google/icloud account so that i can operate it, and that is exactly what these two companies keep pushing for a decade now
     
     smart-ify everything and log in with your account to use it, TVs, speaker, thermostats, lamps, cars
     
     i hate this future with a burning passion, and i hate google/apple for imposing this with their marketing campaigns
