@evan Some colleges use Kotlin in data structures and algorithms courses and other general software engineering courses, too. So still something we'd want to advocate for. It is a JVM language and can compile to other platforms, just most well-known for Android development so far

@evan where are you taking classes? I'm on the Kotlin Foundation, Kotlin has been the official language for writing Android apps since 2017. Our Education Committee will want to help modernize the course.

@chris Cool, makes sense. I also see the potential in Fleet to compete with VSC. JB has a great reputation for IDEs so if anyone can do it, they can.

@chris I work closely with JB and Fleet feedback is very important to them, and the company I work for (Touchlab) will be triaging our tools for Fleet compatibly.

What are your primary reasons for hoping Fleet replaces VSC in your workflow?

I only ran into a bad case of it about a month ago when I picked a random cable to plug my phone into the computer to run adb and it wouldn't work... too many minutes of trying to fix it with updating software versions, etc, then I tried flipping it around and it worked😠
