One of my favorite #WangXian post-canon getting together #fanfic :
In "This house of ill repute" (13.5k) by Jo Lasalle, WangXian find shelter in a cozy place, which wwx, but not lwj, realizes after a bit is a brothel. The fic navigates their reactions & feelings so well, wwx's gentle amusement & kindness, lwj's embarrassment & consternation, the vulnerability & maturity both show in dealing with the situation and each other. It's very soft and beautiful.

One of my @wangxian comfort reads is "Three changes" by orange_crushed, a Cloud Recesses era AU (no war etc) with a lwj pov. The writing is so beautiful & sensual, you really experience lwj's emotional turmoil and attraction, and wwx is just like in cql, irresistible, kind and brilliant. There's only brief angst, mostly the two do this sweet, hesitating dance around e/o.

The @wangxian #fanfic series "Quartet" (41k + 28k) by WithBroomBefore is really about friends / #FoundFamily. It's a fix-it starting at the cave with the divergence that wwx understands the name of the song 😍 They plus jc and jzx stay together, become a battle quartet and develop a 4-way soulbond, it's great. This story has lots of soul brothers feelings and hurt/comfort and it's very uplifting & soothing, like a hot chocolate 😊

This is one of my absolute favorite #YiZhan #fanfic s: "The scent of happiness" (49k) by vesna (mrsronweasley). It's a famous Wang Yibo/ non-famous Xiao Zhan AU, she actually wrote Xiao Zhan as a baker before he said in an interview that that's his dream job if he left c-ent 🤩
The fic is very soft and hot and just perfect. Wyb falls for this baker with the brilliant smile who doesn't know wyb is an idol.

I have to rec this wonderful @wangxian #fanfic I read today:
"The sculptor" (28k) by Eleanor_Fenyx is a modern AU playing in the 70s where a deeply closeted lwj is in a "lavender marriage" with lesbian wq, and becomes the model for sculptor wwx.
The fic is very tender and sensual and treats its characters with so much respect. It's beautiful to see a vulnerable lwj loosen up slowly under wwx's gentleness.

And because I forgot to rec something yesterday, another @yizhan #fanfic favorite: The Olympian x actor AU series by Deinde (3 parts, 75k total) starting with "golden hour".

Actor/singer Xiao Zhan is paired with cocky Olympian snowboarder Wang Yibo as part of an Olympics promotion program. There's instant attraction & banter, XZ learning to snowboard from a very physical, charismatic, indomitable Yibo, a bit of conflict over media & image.

Today's rec is a lovely @yizhan #fanfic:
"Anything. (Or everything.)" (19k) by T Verano tells the story of outdoor guide Wang Yibo whose client for hiking tours is burnt-out idol Xiao Zhan. The fic manages an incredible balance between tranquility in nature and banter & #YiZhan rainbow farting à la cql bts, between a tired but gentle & humble xz and an energetic wyb in full wooing / caring mode (making sure xz eats) 😍 It's perfect.

Next in my #fanfic rec thread: "Some things go forward" (73k) by everythingispoetry, a modern AU feat. teenage @wangxian in a hospital. Wwx is a volunteer after recovering from a severe illness, lwj is diagnosed with cancer. As you can guess there's a lot of hurt/comfort and it might be too raw for some, but it's a very soft fic with lots of A-Yuan cuteness and wwx kindness and the warmth of people taking care of each other.

"Story-shaped" (14k) by lingering_song is an unusual #TheUntamed post-canon #fanfic with an nhs pov. Huaisang takes in a homeless wandering wwx and does everything in his considerable power to give his story a happy ending, including one for @wangxian . Wwx finally gets the home and appreciation for his brilliance & kindness he deserves, in Qinghe. And others get the disdain they deserve. I loved it.
