@shibao yeah, just feels like the wrong tool for the job... but I want an excuse to use it anyway.
I feel the same about elixir
@shibao I'm doing it for this because I dont think I'll ever use it for work since I do more systems-y stuff.
@shibao also I am super happy with rust. genuinely close to no complaints working with it day to day
clojure is so cool
@lain nothing worth listening to there imo
@scathach huh?
@scathach ah I mean i guess I understand to a degree. as much as I hate ads and also use ublock origin everywhere, its the only business model thats worked for a lot of this free content... I just click the skip 30sec button a few times every podcast and i barely notice tbh
@scathach destroying civilization how?
I agree that ads almost always have a negative effect on my view of the company advertising and also often of the place doing the advertising.
I also think that there does seem to be a genuine usecase of advertising ???
I'm not certain what to think here. I also think certain forms of advertising should just obviously be illegal, like advertising directly to kids or advertising gambling
almost done w first week on the job and its been good!
you can just download fonts, its pretty crazy
@p :O what are these
@p ooh i see, I was just thinking of building like the cheapest pc build i could w a few hdds but maybe this is cheaper?
@prettygood I dont own any PCs... ive only got laptops
hmm I should probably look into buying some old motherboard and just have several harddisks on it for my storage server...
I spend way too much time on my phone
@icedquinn :O
what math papers do you read
@georgia this is evil, we gotta do something to stop you
how do yall find phone wallpapers, I feel like its so hard
@icedquinn I mean the Nvidia h100s and b200s of today no longer focus on random shader buffers and stuff, its all a big simd engine which I do see as important in general.
large scale parallel computing seems analogous to the brain, no?
