I watched a BMX jam on YouTube that featured former pros from the 1980s and 1990s and one guy was breaking my brain because he was doing modern, difficult balance tricks on his bike while looking like a retired bank manager in his late 50s and I kept worrying about him crashing and getting hurt.
My uncle offhandedly said "you know your dad had a scrambled brain like we all do in this family" and it was news to me. No one has ever mentioned ADHD.
Then I looked at my morning: – greeted an electrician fixing something at our house - got our backup generator onto wifi - scheduled DMV visit to sort out a car title change - scheduled install of a new exhaust system for other car - ordered new tires for our farm truck - called a lawyer about my dad's will
I bought a fitted ball cap in the same size of the last one I owned and it showed up very slightly too tight so I searched and found tips I should boil water in a pot with the hat on top of the pot, soaking up the steam for 5-10min to stretch its fibers slightly, then wear it after it cools down and goddamn it *really* worked.
Feels perfectly molded to my head now. Thanks, weird internet advice.
There's a big airshow this weekend at my local Cessna airport and they have the Air Force Thunderbirds buzzing my house to practice their moves and it's really amazing what those little puppets can still do.
I grew up in the 80s in bmx/skate/moto culture and it was so toxic for women that there was only 1 woman BMXer sponsored by a major company. Now there are hundreds. My favorite rider, silver medalist Perris Benegas just posted photos of her proposal to her longtime girlfriend and her sponsors and other top riders all congratulated her because it's wonderful when you see true joy.
Anyway, I can't believe how far bmx culture has come in the past 30 years, it feels night and day better now.
I barely ever drink but when Trump loses a nationwide popular vote for the third consecutive time in his career, I will have a toast to him truly being the biggest loser in america.
Searched for my name in the SSN hacker dump and I got about 20 results for every address I’ve ever lived at. Thankfully, I’ve had my credit locked for the last two years but damn.
