As a European, I had zero intuition for temperatures in Fahrenheit until I interacted with Americans on the Internet. That scale simply didn't exist for me. Fahrenheit is what Americans feel like, if you ask me...

@Zergling_man @amerika There's no real argument for imperial units. The entire continent of Europe operates without it, including heavy industry. Several continents do. I'm not saying you can't do the same with imperial units. Of course you can. But it's not *superior*. Equal at best.

@amerika @Zergling_man This is literally just because you live in a county that hasn't transitioned to metric. Live in Europe and your units will suddenly be the impractical ones.

Friend of mine just came back from Tenerife and told me about a QR code scam he saw down there:

Scammers will stick fake QR codes on restaurant tables. QR codes are just website links, so...

1. Link to a fake website that looks like it belongs to the restaurant.

2. Let the customer place a fake order and charge their credit card.

3. Profit!

He said he saw tables with many torn-off QR stickers. The staff would remove the stickers and the scammers would put them back.

There are two types of people:

a) I will Google chemical names, ignore the lack of evidence for their effects, and buy giant pill boxes that supposedly contain these chemicals from non-reputable suppliers. 🤡

b) I refuse to eat this food because it contains "dihydrogen monoxide" and "sodium chloride", which are chemicals, and all chemicals are bad. 🤡

Halloween used to be little kids dressing up as something scary and begging for candy. Now it's adults dressing up as anything and getting drunk.

@georgia That's made with a laser cutter. Interesting, since I have access to those, and know how to use them. I didn't know you could sell stuff made with a laser cutter.
