I live in Michigan. My vote can impact the election.
I'm voting for Harris.
I don't like her. For starters, I oppose the Gaza genocide and the carceral state.
Trump himself is an age-addled fool. But his cronies and hangers-on? They're an active danger to my friends and loved ones.
If you live in a state where the presidential outcome is preordained, please vote for whoever. Pay special attention to downballot races. But if you're in a battleground state, please join me.
If she wins, we'll have us a good political fight.
If she loses, this white cishet dude can live and work anywhere on a digital nomad visa. But it won't save those I love. :flan_piteous:
I fully expect this post to enhance my blocklist, but oh well. I don't need fascist followers.
"Stay angry, little Meg," Mrs Whatsit whispered. "You will need all your anger now." - Madeline L'Engle
@silverwizard @florian committing murder is fine, just keep up on merges.
@silverwizard @florian so do you avoid people, or commit murders? :flan_confused:
Stevie Nicks on Internet feuds:
' About 10 years ago, Katy Perry was talking to me about the internet armies of all the girl singers, and how cruel and rancid they were. I said, “Well, I wouldn’t know because I’m not on the internet.” She said, “So, who are your rivals?” I just looked at her. It was my steely look. I said, “Katy, I don’t have rivals. I have friends. All the other women singers that I know are friends. Nobody’s competing. Get off the internet and you won’t have rivals either.” '
I don't have rivals. I have people I block and get on with my life. (Mind you, it helps being someone nobody wants to rival.)
I'm not hungry, but damn is my mouth bored.
Hacker friends:
Am I correct in thinking passkeys replace "something you know" with something you have," or am I missing something here?
Same, dude. Hard same.
The Craig Maloney Memorial Auction in support of Mutual Aid Disaster Relief ends tonight.

Oh, yeah. I'm talking #ryoms at tonight's mug.org meeting, online. Details at https://www.mug.org/2024/09/mug-meeting-tuesday-oct-8-2024/

I believe you're correct.
The Soviet Union and Yugoslavia schooled them hard.
Nah, the toddler's fine.
The world? Maybe not...
If he asked for a line 220 line, would you give him one?
No, never mind, you probably shouldn't say in public.
Reading a toddler one of my books?
I wouldn't say that in public. Child Protective Services lacks a sense of humor.

Working on the GPG-signed ebook of #RYOMS, and fighting the sick urge to write "GnuPG Mastery."
"PGP & GPG" was my worst-selling book of all time. Absolutely horrendous sales. Not a chance this book would pay for the time it took me to write. Zilch. Zip. Nada.
And yet...
The appealing thing about writing a GPG book?
It's the most user-visible public key cryptography system I know of. What key do you use, when? The six-point table of what you want to achieve vs what key and method you use. Direct, visible results.
Yes, I *explained* this in TLS Mastery. But I didn't *show* it. And showing is what sticks.
