Also the human colony grant thing is only 200 million shares, which sounds like a lot, but not when you look at his total "incentive" comp which he can still vote and - w/ board approval - pledge.

Anyway, he wants the headline "Compensation plan depends on a Mars colony" but that's only a fraction of his "incentive" comp, I can't figure out what the milestones are for the rest of it, and, as I said, he gets those shares pretty much now anyway.

He can't sell his high vote shares to a third party - they become ordinary shares if he does - but his family/kids can get them, so there's dynastic control.

Also SpaceX created a class of nonvoting Class C stock, which won't be issued right now, but almost certainly exists so SpaceX can acquire other companies with stock, without diluting Musk's voting control

Yes we can all laugh at SpaceX's incentive plan which requires Musk to establish a human colony on Mars to earn shares, but he gets them now, and can vote them now. They just don't "vest" until he establishes the colony.

He gets dividends and can pledge them for loans, w/ "board approval"

He has a separate set of shares he gets right now, can vote and pledge (with board approval) now, that don't vest until he hits market cap milestones and compute in space milestones.
