I received an email from a company named RHEI (formerly known as BBTV) today, offering me significant amounts of money (6 figures) for signing a contract to sell my videos to AI companies for training their new models. I respectfully declined. I don’t want the future to suck. #AI#YouTube
Happy 2025, everybody! Let’s make it a good year despite everything that’s going on. Stay strong, spread some love, be kind to each other and yourself, don’t listen to the haters (even if they are screaming loudly)! 🖤
Seems to work. Testing OpenVibe currently. Seems to work alright although it’s a bit suspicious that it’s not open source. I get bad vibes from things called "Open" after what happened with OpenAI. We‘ll see, we‘ll see.
Seriously, 80s #Atari? Is this the way they mounted the little red power LED window on all XE machines or is it just my particular one? They just stabbed the plastic with a soldering iron, it seems. #RetroComputing#VintageComputing#Atari65XE
@BethanyBlack The real difference between all electronics built in the 70s and stuff made today is that the older devices were (mostly) built to be serviceable (and servicing is indeed needed from time to time). Recent stuff mostly just gets thrown out or "repaired" by replacing whole PCBs and such. I really hope the right to repair legislation is going to bring back repairable electronics in the future. There’s still hope, if not much.
please stop randomly sending these little Haribo bags out with orders. I know you mean well, but: The little gummy bears are mostly made from pig gelatin, which neither serious vegetarians/vegans nor peeps whose religious beliefs forbid eating pork want. That‘s a considerate part of the population! I’m probably going to pack them all up and send them to Adrian Black (or maybe give them to somebody nearby who enjoys them).
I repair/hack/make/destroy stuff on YouTube/PeerTube. RetroComputing, VintageAudio, Tinkering. As unprofessional as it gets. Anti fascist. Chaotic good. C64 rules.
