Seeing some people on the reddit AmA ask why Mastodon has so few developers and so many open issues on github etc...

Like 2 months ago Mastodon was being funded less than 10k a month, that includes server costs. Mastodon could barely pay its CEO a wage.

Even at 30k a month, that's barely enough money to employ 2-3 people if you include all the overhead of running the company and servers.

Idk what people expect. There are no billionaires here, or investors.

Clicking the hashtag about Mastodon on twitter was a mistake. The amount of people openly admitting they have no idea how Mastodon works while still finding it necessary to criticize how it works is tilting to read.
