Daily #Wales and I think it’s time for sheep, so #defaidodon, aka #SheepOfMastodon
(The rest of the flock were a little higher up; she’s not alone)

Daily #Wales and #SilentSunday
(Cowries collected on a local beach)
Daily #Wales with a castle of resistance: Castell Cricieth, one of the castles of the Welsh princes.
“I wish it need not have happened in my time," said Frodo.
“So do I," said Gandalf, "and so do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us.”
J.R.R. Tolkien
Daily #Wales and a #SilentSunday
Daily #Wales and a #FensterFreitag from Plas Brondanw… (this is the rather good cafe, now closed for the season alas).
Daily #Wales and it is miserable out there again (go home, weather front, you’re drunk). Here’s the view from Abermaw / Y Bermo / Barmouth from early a couple of mornings ago. When it wasn’t so nasty.
@tg9541 Oh, wow!!!
Daily #Wales today and it’s about time more sheep appeared in my timeline. I have missed sheep for ages; how can this have happened? #SheepOfMastodon #Defaidodon
Daily #Wales from an autumn visit to the National Slate Museum in Llanberis. I do hope their recent funding success and resulting changes don’t affect the extraordinary atmosphere of the place…
Daily #Wales and a #FensterFreitag
Daily #Wales and a #FensterFreitag from Oriel Plas Brondanw. A fabulous place, and another great tea room… art, garden, mountains, landscape, scones.
Daily #Wales is a bit different today: I’m starting a Woolly Wales sequence of pics, all summery because wool isn’t just for winter (honest)…
First, local sheepdog trials in the shadow (literally - it was behind me) of Yr Wyddfa / Snowdon.
.
Daily woolly #Wales today comes from the National Wool Museum. It’s a teasel gig which was used to ‘raise the nap’ on finished cloth, making it softer. Teasels have been used for this through centuries; this machine, though, is electric and contains - apparently, I did not count them - 3000 teasel heads…
@louisa_ I was rather surprised by it too - it’s a great marriage of tradition and (then) modernity
Daily #Wales with a few people attempting to have a ‘summer’ holiday on the beach in Barmouth / Abermaw. You can just see Ynys Enlli aka Bardsey on the horizon, too.
(I am probably in a minority, but I don’t actually mind this chilly weather. Honestly)
Daily #Wales with a summer pic from a while ago. Covid is running a bit mad round here ATM…
(I’m now negative but do not want it again, thank you very much. One friend who has it badly had trouble with work - they wanted the Infected One in to take some exercise classes anyway. FFS)
Have a deserted beach…
Daily #Wales this morning is another painting of our area by John Sell Cotman … and I’m still Covid positive. And still coughing (though otherwise much better). Hrrrumpf.
This is Dolgellau, in the early nineteenth century. I drive over that bridge every time I go to the dentist. Which ought to be today. Hrrumpf squared.
Daily #Wales today comes with added Covid (booooo). First time since I caught my original bout leading to Long Bastard in March ‘20, and not surprising as there’s a lot of it about. Not too bad. Have a travel poster (but probably best not use the train ATM, or at least not the school train).
.
It’s pouring and cold outside, so today’s Daily #Wales is an attempt to remind myself that this is summer. Oh yes it is.
